(2) Frequency, bandwidth and transmission power


・ Figure 7 shows a relation between terrestrial broadcasting frequencies in Japan and frequencies allotted to digital radios. Seven channel in the VHF band is available. Since the 2MHz of channels 7 and 8 overlap, the 4MHz of 188 to 192MHz are used for transmission. Eight segments are available in connected transmission although 6 segments or so are used for existing single transmission. Both Tokyo and Osaka use the same location and width of the range.

・ Tokyo has 2.4kW (300W/segment) of transmission power while Osaka has 240W (30W/segment) of transmission power.
